MISSION

Working Family Solidarity builds unity between low and moderate-income families of different backgrounds, especially African American and Latin@, to struggle together for equitable development. We fight for racial equity and economic justice by focusing primarily on increasing working families' access to good jobs and affordable housing. Working on these two areas means that we often work on issues of immigration, civil rights, and criminal justice.

We have a three-tiered approach to organizing. We hold Racial Unity Dialogues to reflect and build trust; We conduct Know Your Rights workshops and trainings to educate ourselves and analyze our situation. We carry out Justice Campaigns and projects on specific issues that arise out of our members and community residents, such as our Campaign for Justice in Planned Manufacturing District (PMD) #7.
